Doug with his wife, Mona, and children

Doug grew up in Bowie, MD and became a Christian at the age of 8 while attending Riverdale Baptist School.  He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church and eventually Grace Baptist Church in Bowie where he both sang in and helped direct the choir.  He also was active as a youth leader and helped in AWANA and the nursery.

After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Music Education, he went to Dallas Theological Seminary while working on weekends as a Music and Youth Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark, Arkansas.  After finishing his MA in Biblical Studies, he ministered full-time at the church in Ozark.

It was while in Arkansas that he met and fell in love with his future wife, Mona.  After getting married in 1995, they moved back to Maryland where Doug went back to school at Capital Bible Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity.

In 2000, Grace Baptist Church of Bowie, sent him out to start Grace Baptist Church of Odenton, where he pastored for 21 years.  Shortly after COVID ended, GBC Odenton shut down and Doug came to Arundel Baptist, where he began teaching Sunday school and leading worship.  In 2025, he became the senior pastor at Arundel.

Doug works full-time at Zachary’s Jewelers in Annapolis as Chief Financial Officer. Together, he and his wife own Win-Win Gymnastics in Odenton. Doug enjoys reading and all things music while spreadsheeting every aspect of his life!
